We are responsible for the personal data you give us through WAZO3D. If you have a question about your data, mail us.

What we keep, and why

  • Your account: your name, your e-mail address, your password (only as an unreadable hash), your language and, if you add one, your profile photo. Needed to give you an account.
  • An account not yet confirmed: you can start at once, but you confirm your e-mail address within two weeks. In that time we send you at most four reminders; after it we delete the account with its models. When mail to your address comes back undeliverable, we note that and send nothing more there.
  • Your projects: your models, their picture and earlier versions. That is what WAZO3D is for; without them we cannot keep them for you.
  • What you share: models you share with other apps or put in the showcase, your words with them, and your name when you choose to show it. Your comments, forum posts and thumbs up.
  • Feedback: what you report to us, with a picture of your screen when you send one along, and what the editor was doing at that moment (the tool, counts of faces; never your model itself).
  • Payments: when you take Power, you pay through Mollie. We keep your customer number at Mollie, your subscription and your payments (amount, date, status). We neither see nor keep your bank account or card details.
  • Use: we count visits, sign-ins, editor sessions and saves to see how WAZO3D is used, and to work out Early Access credits. This is done without recording your IP address, your browser or the pages you look at.
  • Where visitors come from: from your IP address our own server looks up the country you visit from (with DB-IP's free list, which stays on our server), and keeps only that country beside the counts above and on an account made then. The IP address itself is not kept. IP geolocation by DB-IP.
  • How the editor is used: which tools, panels and WAZO3D plugins are used, what is exported or made, when a model is first changed and saved, the errors the editor meets (their kind and the place in our code, never their message), how long a session is active and where it ends. These counts are tied to a random number drawn every time the editor opens and to the kind of visitor (guest, free or paying) — no account, no model, no IP address, no cookie — and are deleted after thirteen months.
  • The free tools without an account: when you ask for an STL from a free tool by e-mail, we keep that address and the model for at most seven days, until you follow the link we mail; then they are your account and your project.
  • Mail: which mail you want (newsletter, weekly digest, service mail, test mail) and whether your address refuses mail.
  • Files of what plugins make: an STL you export of a model a WAZO3D plugin made carries your account number and name, hidden in tiny shifts of a few points (thousandths of a millimetre, nothing a printer shows) and, on the jigs of the overhead line, written on the jig. It stays in your file; we do not keep it anywhere else. It lets a file passed on be traced back to the account it came from.

We do this because it is needed for the service you take from us (the agreement), because we have a legitimate interest in keeping WAZO3D safe and working well, or because you ask for it yourself (the newsletter and the weekly digest are off until you switch them on).

Cookies

We only use the cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie to keep you signed in, a cookie against forged forms, and — when you choose "stay signed in" — a cookie that remembers that. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics services of others. The editor also keeps your settings and your latest model in your own browser; they stay on your own device.

Who we share data with

  • Mollie (Amsterdam) handles your payments.
  • Our hosting company (Strato, Germany) runs the servers WAZO3D runs on. Your data stays in the European Union.
  • What you make public yourself — in the showcase, on the forum, with a share link — anybody can see.

We do not sell your data and do not give it to others for their own purposes.

WAZO Inside

When you build models in another website that uses WAZO Inside (such as TRAX3D), we keep those models for that site under an anonymous number the site gives us. We do not know who you are then; that site is responsible for your data with them.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. When you close your account, we delete your account, your projects, your feedback, your comments and what belongs to them. Your forum posts stay, but without your name, so conversations stay readable. Payment records we keep as long as the law requires (seven years for the tax authorities), no longer tied to an account. We make backups of the database, which we keep for up to about thirteen months; after that your data is gone from those too.

Your rights

You may see your data, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Much of this you can do yourself on your account page: change your name, language, photo and mail preferences, and close your account. You can always download your models yourself as a .wazo file. For the rest: mail us, and we answer within a month. If you disagree with us, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

The site only works over an encrypted connection, passwords are kept only as a hash, and secret keys are stored encrypted on the server. Only administrators can reach the administration.

Changes

If anything essential changes in this statement, we say so on the site and, where it concerns you, by mail.
